Bandshell Restoration

The original bandshell was dedicated on July 26th, 1934. In 1977-1978 many volunteers worked to put in a sprinkler system, new sidewalks, new grass and trees and overall cleanup of the park. Existing structures in the park include rock pillar entrances, the water fountain, the cement flag, the rose bowl and the bandshell.

The City plans to submitt another application to the Kansas Historical Society in the fall 2011.  With the help of the grant and private donations the bandshell restoration will begin.
